On Sunday, April 24th, Kings Bowl Lincoln Park and former Chicago Bear Rashied Davis hosted “Chef Bowl 2016“. The day included blowing, delicious house made food, drink and other festive activities. The largely attended event hosted professional athletes like former Chicago Bears Jerry Azumah, Anthony Adams, Charles “Peanut” Tillman, Garret Wolfe and Olympic Bobsledder Aja Evans as well as Chicago Chefs Kevin Cuddihee of TWO, Kevin Hickey of Bottlefork and The Duck Inn and Paul Virant of Vie and Perennial Virant.
“Chef Bowl 2016″ was able to raise more than $35,000 for Saturday Place, an academic enrichment program for Chicago Public Schools’ students in 3rd and 4th grade who live in under-resourced communities and perform at least one year below their grade level. This amazing nonprofit meets every Saturday, hence the name, and offers additional academic support to those who attend.
